Do you sometimes find that winter months seem to go on forever and that you’re just longing for better weather?

Do you sometimes feel lethargic and unable to get going, even when you really, really want to achieve something?

Need some tips for feeling happy?

You’ve only got to marcel at the skill of any of our world-class sports men and women to realise that they must obviously overcome any inertia they might feel. They wouldn’t be where they are today if they hadn’t got on with the business of regular training and improvement – whether they ‘felt like it’ or not.

There’s a story, you may have heard, about the famous and gifted violin player, Itzhak Perlman.

A woman said, “You were phenomenal tonight, Mr Perlman. Amazing!”

“Thank you” came the reply.

The women went on, “All my life I have loved the violin, and I have heard every great violinist, but I have never heard anyone play as brilliantly as you did tonight”.

Perlman graciously smiled back at her.

She added, “You know, I’d give my life to play like that.”

Perlman smiled again and said,

“I have!”
